NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia is actively involved in a study dedicated to designing a specialist NET Nurse led – GP shared care model for neuroendocrine cancer patients.

NET patients have reported suboptimal health-related quality of life and significant unmet supportive care needs that persist for many years after diagnosis and treatment.

NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia partners with the AUSNET MRFF trial initiated to implement a shared, follow-up care model between acute cancer care centers and general practices (GP) for people with NETs; and systematically overcome implementation barriers using evidence-based components of care.

The project will be launched at 5 key specialist sites including Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Royal North Shore Hospital, Royal Brisbane & Womens Hospital, Fiona Stanley Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
