The online event will be held on September 28th, 2022, from 12 pm CET in Zoom.
Other high-level experts who contribute to the discussion are: Jean-Yves Blay, Centre Léon Bérard, the Comprehensive Cancer Centre of Lyon, ERN-EURACAN Coordinator; Rocio Garcia Carbonero, Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre; Jose A. Valverde, DG SANTE – Unit B.3 – European Reference Networks and Digital Health; Paolo G. Casali, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale Tumori, Milan; Nicolas González Casares, MEP (S&D), ENVI; Marianne Ellen Pavel, University of Enlargen, Vice-chair of ENETS.
The purpose of the event is to publicly launch the new set of updated recommendations on neuroendocrine neoplasms in Europe, which were first presented in 2015 at EU level in the European Parliament and endorsed by a group of MEPs.
However, while some of the goals of the 2015 recommendations have been met, many challenges persist to ensure optimal patient care, including the effective functioning of reference networks, effective MDTs, improved diagnosis, and integration of new innovations into NEN care. The update recommendations aim at reviewing the progress and achievements made over the past seven years and call on policymakers at EU and Member State level to help all countries to move forward.
