Stephanie Alband, INCA President (Pheo Para Alliance, USA), Duncan Macduff, INCA Communications Committee Chair (NETSAS, South Africa) and Dirk Van Genechten (vzw NET & MEN Kanker Belgium) were delighted to take part in the WECAN Masterclass. WECAN Academy 2024 brought together more than 80 passionate patient advocates and presenters from 32 countries, from various fields of expertise in cancer advocacy and care, healthcare, research, and more. The immersive event featured the WECAN SmartStart for novice advocates and WECAN Masterclass for expert patient advocates. July 11th to 14th – four days of intensive training on advocacy principles, healthcare economics, drug development, policy work, patient centricity in clinical trials and NGO governance, among others, coupled with ample networking opportunities, designed to empower committed and capable leaders.
The annual WECAN training program aims to increase the capacity and number of advocates who can then drive change in healthcare and cancer care.
