It is with a most heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of former INCA and CNETS Board Member and dear friend, Pierrette Breton.

Pierrette served as the Canadian and CNETS representative with INCA since March 2011. She was elected to the Executive Committee and served as Secretary/Treasurer. Pierrette also took on an additional leadership role in planning and organizing the annual INCA Summit/Membership Council Meeting, arranging meetings in 2012 in Copenhagen, 2013 in Barcelona, and 2014 in Italy. She served on INCA’s Board of Directors in 2013.

Pierrette also served on the Board of Directors of CNETS from 2010 to 2014, during which time she made a tremendous contribution to the organization and the Canadian neuroendocrine cancer patient community.

In recognition of her incredible contributions to the neuroendocrine cancer community, both nationally and internationally, Pierrette received the Maureen Coleman award in 2015.

Pierrette was an exceptional person and we at INCA are so grateful to have known her and had the chance to work with her for the global NET patient community. It was an utter pleasure to plan INCA Summits with Pierrette. Pierrette knew how to celebrate life – she had an exquisite taste, a remarkable spirit and marked everything she did with an admirable combination of graciousness and strength.

The fond memories we have of the time spent together will forever live in our hearts. Pierrette will be hugely missed!

Deepest condolences to Pierrette’s family and friends. May our dear friend rest in peace.
