• Almost half of GEP NET patients are initially misdiagnosed with more common ailments like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastritis or anxiety before receiving the correct diagnosis.
• The process of diagnosing a patient with GEP NET can take up to 6 years. By the time a correct diagnosis is received, many patients have stage 4 cancer.
• 2 and more specialists are involved in the correct diagnosis, while there is a lack of enough healthcare specialists, knowledgeable in NETs.
  Newer specialized tools for monitoring and diagnostics are not available for more than one-third of GEP NET patients globally.
