On 19 – 21th April 2024, more than 80 members of CarciNor gathered in Bergen, Norway, for 2024 annual conference. The weekend offered a packed program with both medical lectures, peer work and social gatherings. CarciNor is particularly pleased that so many “new” members attended this year’s conference.

Dr. Khanh Do-Cong Pham (Haukeland University Hospital) gave a lecture on endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) guided radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of neuroendocrine tumors of the pancreas.

Dr. Magnus Andreas Nordstrand (Stavanger University Hospital) gave an intro to gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP-NEN), before talking about the continuation of the research project that looked at the occurrence of GEP-NET in South Rogaland in the ten-year period 2003-2013, which has now received REK (Regional committees for medical and health research ethics) approval to extend the inclusion period by a further 10 years. This new project will receive funding from CarciNor Research Fund.

During the dinner on Saturday evening, there was a ceremonial presentation of CarciNor’s honorary award to member Inger-Elsa Kjustad, for her many years of efforts in the association. Congratulations!

Thanks to everyone who took part and made the weekend an educational, emotional, and very enjoyable gathering!
