June 01, 2017|
CNETS India, INCA member organization, is planning collaboration with Indian Cancer Society, a nonprofit organisation working for cancer awareness and supporting patients in India, for promoting NET cancer awareness. CNETS India team shall be educating their cancer support volunteers about Neuroendocrine Cancers and partner with them to reach out to more and more patients at the grass root level in various parts of the country.
CNETS India promoted NET Cancer Awareness on November 10, NET Cancer Day in 2016 with the theme “Let’s Talk About NETs”. With support from the International Neuroendocrine Cancer Alliance (INCA), CNETS India partnered with Whole Foods India, a healthy-food cafe chain, and distributed coffee cups at their outlets in hospitals across Delhi and national capital region. The team put up informational posters about Neuroendocrine Cancers at these cafes. The initiative was received well both by general public as well as medical personnel visiting these hospitals.
Carcinoid Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (CNETS) India was established in the year 2013 by a group of healthcare professionals with a vision of creating awareness about the rare neuroendocrine neoplasms among the public and healthcare workers and to work towards advancing the management of neuroendocrine neoplasms in the Indian subcontinent. There are both professional and patient advocacy wings to engage with NET specialist doctors as well as patients.
The organization took its name from the already established Carcinoid-NeuroEndocrine Tumour Societies of Canada and Singapore and became full member of INCA in the year 2016.
